COHORT LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE & OPPORTUNITIES

Cohort Executive Board: This executive board oversees the cohort system and is comprised of eleven former cohort directors and cohort presidents. The Cohort Executive Board works closely with the Undergraduate Division's student life staff to continually assess and enhance the cohort system. Two co-chairs oversee the board and the other members each serve as advisor and liaison to one of the nine cohorts. Cohort Executive Board members are selected through a competitive application and interview process in the spring semester. 

Cohort President: Each cohort elects a class president starting in the spring of the freshmen year. Elections for cohort president are held in the late spring and appointments last one full year. The president plans various social and co-curricular activities for the cohort and works with presidents in other class years within the same cohort as well as with the presidents of the other cohorts. The cohort presidents meet regularly with their executive-board liaisons and the Undergraduate Division's student life staff.

Cohort Director: A sophomore leader who plans activities for their respective freshman cohort and serves as a resource and peer mentor to their freshman cohort. Directors also organize freshman traditions like the Scavenger Hunt and Gingerbread House Competition. Cohort directors are selected through a competitive application and interview process during spring semester. This position is held for one year.

Freshmen Cohort Representatives: Two freshmen representatives are elected by their own cohort in the fall semester from each freshman cohort. The representatives serve as liaisons between the cohort members and the cohort directors. Along with the cohort directors, the freshmen representatives plan social activities for the cohort. The position lasts for the duration of the freshman year.

Cohort Mentor: An upperclassman who serves as a peer mentor to a freshman in the same cohort. Mentors and mentees are paired over the summer and meet formally and informally throughout the year.
