Second Concentration Only

The global analysis (GLAN) secondary concentration permits Wharton students to extend their understanding of the global economy as it applies to firms. One may think of it as a broad concentration in international business.
To fulfill the concentration in global analysis, students must:
- Take at least one upper-level language course beyond the basic proficiency level required for fulfillment of the language requirement. Courses involving cinema are not permitted.
- Study abroad for at least one semester at a Penn-approved site. The program should be in a country where the student's language of study is spoken, but exceptions may be granted. Note that business courses taken abroad may not count towards the concentration.
- Take three additional upper-level Wharton courses that focus on international aspects of business. None of these three courses may double-count toward the global environment requirement.

Note that students can choose one of the following options for double-counting their concentration courses:
- Double-count one Wharton course as a business breadth and the other three courses as unrestricted electives.
- Double-count the upper-level language course with one global environment requirement (if it would normally meet that requirement), and double-count the three Wharton courses as unrestricted electives.
It is recommended that students consult with an advisor in the Wharton Undergraduate Division to discuss their individual plans and options for double-counting.
