Configure Outlook Live in Entourage 2008

The configuration instructions below will help you configure your Wharton account in Exchange mode for full email, calendar and contact integration.

**MBA 2011 Lauder students -- Configuring Entourage for your Wharton email account**

Prerequisite: Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac (including Special Media Edition).

Note: Microsoft Office 2008 Home and Student Edition does not support Exchange configurations.

Step 1: Run Microsoft Updates.

1. Open Entourage
2. Click the Help menu-->check for updates
3. Run Office updates until there are no available updates

Step 2: Install the Microsoft Office Update "MS Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition"

1. Close out of all Microsoft software (Entourage, Messenger, Office, etc)
2. Go to the following link: MS Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition update
3. Download and Install the "English (.dmg)" update under "Download Now!"

Step 3: Install Previous Email Accounts

Note: If you have previously configured email accounts in Entourage you will need to complete this step. If any accounts were configured in POP mode contact support@wharton.upenn.edu before proceeding. If you've never used Entourage, skip to Step 4.

1. If you previously had an Email Account set up in Entourage, you may not see it now.  If this is the case, you will have to import the previous account.
2. Go to File-->Import
3. The "Import" dialog box will pop up
   
   
4. When the "Choose an Application" screen appears select Entourage 2008 and click the right arrow
5. Choose the Items you want to import and click the right arrow
6. If you had one single "Main Identity", import this one by clicking the right arrow. If you had multiple identities you will have to import each one using the above procedure.
   
   
7. You will now see your previous Email accounts in Entourage
   

Step 4: Configure Wharton Account in Exchange mode

1. Open Entourage. Click the Entourage menu-->Account Settings
2. Click the drop down arrow next to "New" and select "Exchange"
3. For Email address type in : yourusername@live.wharton.upenn.edu (replace yourusername with your Wharton username).
   1. Check the option “My account is on Exchange server” and click the right-arrow to continue
4. Check the option “Always use my response for this server” and click the Allow button.
   
   
   
   Click the right arrow to continue
   
   
5. An Account Information Screen will appear type in the following information
   
   
   
   Account ID: Full Wharton email address Yourusername@wharton.upenn.edu
   Password: Your Wharton Password
   Domain: Leave this option Blank
   Click OK
   
   
6. If you entered all of your information correctly, a message will appear stating “Automatic Configuration Succeeded”. Click the Right Arrow
7. Verify and Complete Settings screen will appear
   
   
   
   Click the right arrow to continue
   
   
8. In the "Optional: Verify Settings" box, click the right arrow. When asked to "verify your account settings", choose "Skip"
9. In the "Setup Complete" dialog box, type in a name for your account (e.g. "Wharton") and then click the Finish button
