Wharton Computing Labs

Policies

You are responsible for knowing lab policies, which are posted in the labs and are available in the F35 JMHH Wharton Computing Student Support Office. If you have any questions about lab policies, please contact Student Support.

Always Log Out

When you are finished using a lab machine or workstation, always make sure you log out. You can do this by pressing the Ctrl-Alt-Delete keys simultaneously and clicking on Log Off... You can also choose Log Off from the Start menu and then clicking OK to verify that you want to log out.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you wait until you are completely logged off the computer before leaving. If you have unsaved documents or if a program freezes, it may not log out completely and someone may be able to take over your session and gain access to your e-mail and printing account. If someone gains access to your account because you did not log out or because you left your station unattended while logged in, you are legally and financially responsible for any activity that person conducts while using your account. Never leave a logged-in station unattended and always log out when you're finished.

Wharton labs are open to Wharton faculty, Wharton students, and Wharton staff. Non-Wharton students taking a Wharton class can apply for an account online using our Account Creation program. You must have a current Penn ID card and be registered in a Wharton class to obtain an account. The account will be valid only for the duration of the class.

Also, you must bring your Penn Card when you visit a lab. You need it both to use the labs and to gain entrance to the buildings after-hours. Wharton Security periodically checks Penn Cards and you will be asked to leave if you do not have your Penn Card with you.

Fall Semester Hours

  • Jon M. Huntsman Hall is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Holiday hours will be announced.
