Manage Your Email

Actively managing your email can save hours of time and energy down the road. These tips apply to most email readers although Wharton recommends using Outlook 2007 to manage your mail, calendar and contacts:

Screen Incoming Mail
Use tools to screen and sort your email before it reaches your Inbox.

Sort Your Mail

Create folders in your account to sort mail before you read it.

  • Creating Server-side folders.
    Use the "create new folder" option under the File menu in Outlook to create folders on the server. You can then write rules to automatically sort incoming messages.
  • Creating personal folders

Manage Your Quota
Use storage strategies to remove mail from your Wharton account, freeing up space so that you don't run out of quota. Some options are:
