Lifelong Email

MBA, Undergraduate and Evening school students are given a lifelong email address as part of their Wharton account. This email address is given when the Wharton account is created and can be used at any time. A lifelong email address is permanent and will never expire. It is a forwarding address that is a pointer to another email account. It is not an email account that can be logged into to send and receive email from.

Note: PhD students can request a lifelong email forwarding address by speaking with the IT Support Representative for their department, or by signing up on the Wharton Alumni webpage at:http://www.whartonconnect.com

Below you will find some of the common questions regarding lifelong email addresses.

Where Does My Lifelong Email Address Get Forwarded To?

Where your lifelong email address is forwarded to depends on your Wharton status:

• Current Wharton Students:
  While a student at Wharton, your lifelong email address is automatically forwarded to your Wharton email account (your username@wharton.upenn.edu). These two email addresses are connected and cannot be separated until your Wharton account closes. Therefore, if you want to change the forwarding of your lifelong email, you will need to do so by changing the forwarding of your Wharton email address.
  Please Note: If you forward your Wharton account to another e-mail address, your life long e-mail address will be forwarded to that address also.
• Recent Alumni who still have Wharton accounts:
  If you still have a Wharton account, you can change the forwarding of your lifelong email address by using the link on the My Account tab of Spike. Please note that this will also forward any email sent to your Wharton email account (your username@wharton.upenn.edu account).
• Alumni:
  Once you graduate and your Wharton account is no longer valid, you will need to specify where your lifelong email address should be forwarded to. To forward your lifelong email, please do the following:
  • Open the Wharton Alumni web page at: http://www.whartonconnect.com
  • Login with your Whartonconnect ID and Password, then select "My Account" in the upper right hand side of the screen. ".
  • Select the "Change Lifelong Email Forwarding" option and follow it from there. If you are not a registered member, you will need to register for the WhartonConnect page before changing your forwarding. You can do this by clicking the 'Sign Up' option on the main WhartonConnect page.

What Is My Lifelong Email Address?

Often, the format of the lifelong email addresses is: first.lastname.whXX@wharton.upenn.edu However, this is not always the case. In order to find out what your lifelong email address please do the following based on your Wharton status:

• Current Wharton Students: To find out what your lifelong email address is, look your name up in SPIKE's Facebook directory. The address will be listed there.
• Alumni Students: To find out what your lifelong email address is, look your name up in the Alumni directory on http://www.wharton.upenn.edu/alumni. The address will be listed there.
