Email - Choosing the right configuration for you
Wharton students receive an email account (username@wharton.upenn.edu), which can be easily forwarded to
another account. How you want to use
your email determines which email solution is
best for you. The chart below will help you make an informed choice.

Ways to read email
There are 3 main ways to read your email:
- Exchange mode: This is a fully integrated service; you can read, manage and store email, use your calendar to schedule meetings with other students and staff, and manage your contacts.
- IMAP mode: This service provides a quicker way to read your email, and is supported by more email readers than Exchange mode; it does not provide calendaring and contact management
- Webmail: This service provides access to your email, calendar and contacts from most web browsers. It is nearly as full-featured as Exchange mode, but is not quite as easy to use.
