Student Recognition Awards

Each year Wharton honors outstanding members of the student body with Student Recognition Awards. All students can nominate others for these awards and the student body then selects a winner from the nominees. First years can nominated second years for all awards. First year students are eligible for the Ben Franklin Award.

The Awards:

The Joseph P. Wharton Award for leadership and Innovation honors the student who best exemplifies this spirit that distinguishes the Wharton School and its graduates. Awarded to: one second year.

Paul Green Award for Knowledge Creation honors the student who has most contributed to the world’s knowledge bank. Awarded to: one second year student.

Ben Franklin Spirit of Philadelphia Award recognizes the Wharton student who has most contributed to our beloved city. Awarded to: one first year student and one second year student.

Class of 2001 Leadership Award ($2,500 awarded to the recipient). This award is funded by a grant made possible by the Wharton Class of 2001. The award is presented to the student in the graduating MBA class who most exemplifies the spirit of Wharton in terms of leadership, teamwork, scholarship and service. Awarded to: one second year student.

The Wharton Administration “Whatever It Takes Award” honors the member of the Wharton Administration who has most gone above and beyond the call of duty in his/her respective area to ensure Wharton remains the best MBA program in the world. Awarded to: one member of the Wharton administration
