Guidelines for Planning Events at MBA Pub: Appendix 2

Note regarding the use of Hoover Lounge on Pub Nights:

If you intend to let Pub members and/or other MBA Students into Hoover Lounge but only serve alcohol in Pub:

  • You must reserve Hoover Lounge through Wharton Operations.
  • You must hire 2 additional security guards through Wharton Operations -- one to man the door that connects the Pub to Hoover Lounge and one to man the door into Hoover Lounge.
  • The first guard will ensure that no one who is not 21 or a not a Pub member enters the Pub from that door.
  • The second guard is needed to comply with policies related to serving alcohol in the Wharton Complex.
  • You must hire additional housekeeping staff through Wharton Operations.
  • Any damages incurred to Hoover Lounge during your event will be charged to your club.

If you intend to host an event on a Thursday night that include serving alcohol in Hoover Lounge:
  • You must reserve Hoover Lounge through Wharton Operations.
  • You must sign and comply with the Wharton Complex Alcohol Usage Agreement.
  • The door that connects Hoover Lounge to Pub must remain locked. Due to restrictions related to the liquor license agreement for the Pub, no alcohol served in Hoover Lounge may enter Pub.
If you intend to host an alcohol-free event in Hoover Lounge on a Thursday Pub night:
  • You must reserve Hoover Lounge through Wharton Operations.
  • The door between Hoover Lounge and The Pub will remain locked.
  • No alcohol will be permitted in Hoover Lounge.
