Adding files to SPIKEShare
To add files to SPIKEShare follow the directions listed below.
Sharing files and folders with individual users or a group
You have the ability to share files and directories stored on your SPIKEShare with other users and groups.
By default, Users with Accounts and Public, are two groups that will automatically appear when sharing a file or directory with another user. The Users with Accounts group can by used when you want to share files with multiple users with Wharton Accounts. The Public group can be used when you want to make your file accessible by users that do not have Wharton accounts. Note: When setting Read/Write permissions for the Public group you are opening your shared file or directory to all users. Be careful and selective when using the Public group to share files. Emailing shared files to Wharton and non-Wharton students
Sending shared files to users with Wharton e-mail addresses
Note: If you want to share multiple files or directories, you can do this by selecting the files you want to share and then clicking the Email button at the top of the SPIKEShare window.
SPIKEShare Web Folders
When you access SPIKEShare using Internet Explorer you have the ability to open your SPIKEShare space in a Microsoft explorer window. This will allow you to have full access to the files just as if the files were locally on you system or mapped as a network drive. Click the "Web Folder" button, and a normal Windows folder will open. In this folder you can add or delete the files you want to share just like any other normal Microsoft window. ![]() Note:It can take quite a bit of time to copy large files to this folder because this is being copied over the network. Also, you cannot edit files in this folder. To edit a file in the Web Folder you must copy it your computer, edit it locally, and then copy it back to your SPIKEShare. Checking your SPIKEshare quota
As a Wharton student, you have 150 MB of storage space on SPIKEshare. You can see the amount of file storage you are
using by looking in bottom corner of the File Management section of SPIKEshare. Additional Information:
